This was such a fun family session in Gum Grove Park located in Seal Beach. This sweet family planned their gender reveal as a photo session and it was such a blast! They were very sweet and relaxed and we just adventured around the park together, capturing all the candid memories. They have three little girls and we planned to reveal the gender of their next baby during their photoshoot! Their girls were younger so I enjoyed playing with them and just having fun with different prompts and helping them have fun in front of the camera.

Tips For Your Family Session | California Family Photographer
When you’re planning a session and you have little ones in your family, sometimes it can be a little nerve wracking. A lot of moms come to me before sessions with any advice I have and I thoughts I’d write some here!
Tip Number One: Make sure they aren’t hungry during the session! Hangry kids make unhappy kids. If we’re doing a sunset session, either give them some snacks beforehand if you want to go to dinner afterwards or feed them dinner before the session! This is just a little tip so that they’re nice and happy and no one has hungry bellies making them upset during photos!
Tip Number Two: Lower your expectations. I know, this one may sound a little weird to you. However, my goal during family sessions is to capture your family unit exactly how you are. When you have little ones, we will let them guide the session. Try not to get upset if they aren’t cooperating at the moment and just trust the process.
Tip Number Three: Trust me during your photoshoot. When you have little ones, I love to just get everyone having fun and enjoying the moment. I’ll play ring around the rosie, play tickle fights, etc to just get the kids having fun. I have a lot up my sleeve to get the best photos possible!

These sweet parents had so much love for their children, and it showed through their photographs. Their whole family was so photogenic and just let me guide them and just do my thing. Another thing that stood out about this session, was that we did get to do a gender reveal at the end! They are a family of girls, so it was super fun to watch the girls reaction to see that they were going to get a baby brother! I highly recommend doing a photoshoot for your gender reveal!
